Five Bay Area restaurants joined the Michelin Guide on Wednesday, March 25, as the tire company announced 12 new additions total to its California selections.
Dingles Public House burst onto the San Francisco dining scene in November 2025, led by husband-and-wife team George and Anissa Dingle. Their ode to British pub food serves classics like beef and Guinness pie, Scotch eggs, and a proper Sunday roast on the weekend. It joins a crop of British restaurants that have opened across the U.S. over the last year. Chef Joseph Magidow leads La Cigale, serving Occitan cuisine from southern France through a live-fire lens. All the more impressive, Magidow mainly works the kitchen solo, serving two seatings a night at an intimate counter.
Restaurant Naides comes from chef Patrick Gabon and partner Celine Wuu. Their first restaurant venture melds their fine-dining experience at Sons & Daughters and Milka with Filipino food. The result is an adventurous tasting menu that isn’t traditional in presentation, but aims for classic Filipino flavors through dishes like a take on the tamarind-flavored soup sinigang that stars abalone. The debut of Wolfsbane in October 2025 signaled the return of Rupert and Carrie Blease to the San Francisco dining scene, following the closure of their celebrated, 10-year-old restaurant Lord Stanley in May 2025. They joined forces with Tommy Halvorson and opened Wolfsbane, a 10-course tasting menu restaurant in the heart of Dogpatch. Yeobo, Darling in Menlo Park is a personal restaurant from chefs Meichih and Michael Kim, melding their Taiwanese and Korean backgrounds, their fine-dining chops, and their experiences of growing up in America. That all translates into dishes like the singular lu rou fan lasagna.
These 12 restaurants join the Michelin Guide as “Recommended” and are highlighted within the guide as “New.” It’s worth noting that these restaurants aren’t starred — yet. The California Michelin Guide is regularly updated in the spring, in the lead-up to the ceremony in June, and the new additions are generally seen as frontrunners for either a Bib Gourmand or starred designation (although neither is guaranteed). A date for the 2026 California ceremony is yet to be announced.
