FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -A Fargo grocery store is closing its doors next month.
Coborn’s, Inc. announced it will close its Hornbacher’s Express location at 1433 S. University Drive on June 27, 2026. The company says the store’s lease is set to expire, prompting the decision to shut down.
The closure is set to affect 62 employees — 14 full-time and 48 part-time workers. Coborn’s says all of them will be offered positions at other company locations in the market, with one-on-one transition support.
“Decisions like this are never easy, especially for an employee-owned company where our people are at the heart of everything we do,” said CEO and Chairman Chris Coborn. “We are incredibly proud of the Express team and deeply grateful for the dedication and care they have shown our guests over the years.”
Coborn’s says it plans to focus on its full-service grocery locations going forward, describing them as “community hubs” for shoppers and neighborhoods.
St. Cloud, Minnesota-based Coborn’s, Inc. is a 105-year-old, employee-owned company operating with nearly 10,000 employees and 79 grocery stores across six states under banners including Coborn’s, Cash Wise Foods, and Hornbacher’s.
