Celebrity chef Chris Valdes has shared the kitchen with plenty of famous daytime TV faces, appearing on hits like Good Morning America, The Sherri Show, and Live with Kelly and Ryan. So when it comes to who actually holds their own behind the stove, he knows a thing or two.
His top pick? None other than Ryan Seacrest.
“He actually knows how to cook. He knows his stuff,” Valdes, 35, shared in a September 28 interview with the U.S. Sun, praising his genuine skills in the kitchen.

While Seacrest, 51, certainly has the culinary chops, Valdes noted that the Wheel of Fortune star takes a very deliberate approach to his prep work. “He takes forever because he likes taking his time,” Valdes explained, contrasting Seacrest’s methodical pace with his own fast-paced cooking style. “For Ryan, every ingredient he chops, he has a story to tell.”
Valdes recalled a time backstage at Live with Kelly and Ryan when Seacrest happily chatted about a trip to Santa Monica while prepping food. “I don’t know what happened, but all of a sudden, he had made tacos three ways,” Valdes laughed. “I was impressed, but he talked a lot… But he’s a great person.”

The American Idol host’s passion for food is no secret to his millions of social media followers, who regularly see posts about his favorite meals and kitchen adventures. And while he already has one of the busiest schedules in Hollywood, the star has hinted that a culinary project might still be on his bucket list.
“I am a massive foodie; that’s the one show I have not done yet, which is a food show, which I’d love to do someday,” Seacrest previously shared during a September 2023 appearance on Good Morning America.
