A Banbridge hospitality fixture is winding down. The Bronte Steak House & Grill — run by Ian Clyde and family for nearly two decades — will serve its final customers on Sunday 22 November 2026, the restaurant has announced.
The Clyde family say the property is Sale Agreed. They are not naming a buyer and will not comment on what comes next for the building. Until that last Sunday, The Bronte stays open as normal for anyone who wants one more visit.
When is the last night?
Final service is Sunday 22 November 2026. There are no bookings beyond that date. If you still hold a valid gift voucher, the restaurant asks you to get in touch and book a table before close so it can be used in time — brontesteakhouse.com or 028 4065 1338.
How long has The Bronte been open?
Almost twenty years under the Clyde family — long enough that for a lot of Banbridge and mid-Ulster diners it has been the default for a proper steak night, a birthday or a Sunday table that felt like home.
Why are they closing?
In their own words, the decision is about weekends and long hours giving way to more family time and a new chapter. The Bronte first went on the market in early 2024; Sale Agreed has now been reached. Beyond that, they are keeping plans private — and LoveBelfast is not filling in gaps they have not confirmed.
