Roots Prime Italian Chophouse is now open in Franklin, the restaurant confirmed, bringing a new upscale dining option to the Cool Springs area. More Eat & Drink News
Located at 440 Cool Springs Boulevard, the restaurant opened in the former Old Chicago Pizza space. Roots is the second restaurant concept from Chef Jose Serrato and Elizabeth Serrato, the team behind Serrato’s Steakhouse.
The concept blends the feel of an American chophouse with traditional Italian cuisine, with a menu centered around steaks, seafood, pasta, and Italian-inspired dishes.
Menu highlights include the Filet Mignon Duo, featuring two 4.5-ounce filets served with jumbo scallops, crab-stuffed shrimp, and lobster sauce. The Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop is a 16-ounce French-cut chop finished with bourbon glaze, candied bacon, cinnamon, and apple chutney.
For diners looking for a classic surf-and-turf option, Roots offers a 6-ounce filet mignon with a 6-ounce Maine lobster tail. Another option, the 16-ounce USDA Prime New York Strip with scallop and shrimp, is topped with Cajun lobster sauce.
The menu also includes several salads, including the Roots Italian House Salad, made with romaine, Arcadia blend, heirloom cherry tomatoes, pepperoncini, red onions, black olives, artichoke hearts, garlic croutons, shaved Parmesan, and Italian dressing. The Surf & Turf Salad combines sliced striploin, jumbo shrimp, hard-boiled eggs, applewood-smoked bacon, avocado, field greens, heirloom tomatoes and fresh Parmesan, along with blue cheese crumbles and champagne vinaigrette.
Steak selections include filet mignon, USDA Prime New York strip, USDA Prime ribeye, dry-aged bone-in New York strip and a USDA Prime bone-in ribeye. Diners can also add enhancements such as truffle butter, Oscar style, jumbo shrimp, blue cheese, jumbo scallops, roasted garlic mushrooms, Maine lobster tail or crab-stuffed shrimp.
Roots also offers separate lunch, dinner, children’s, dessert and drink menus. The beverage program includes wine, cocktails, premium spirits, and Italian aperitifs and digestifs.
The restaurant includes private dining options for special events, corporate gatherings and celebrations. A private dining room can accommodate up to 40 guests, while a semi-private area can accommodate up to 25.
Roots marks another expansion for the Serratos, who opened Serrato’s Steakhouse in Franklin in 2021 before later expanding the brand to Brentwood.
Roots Prime Italian Chophouse is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations are available through Resy.
