Two crowd-favorite restaurants—Bun Appetit and One World Deli—will be closing their branches at The Corner House in San Juan for good by month’s end.
Seafood restaurant Bun Appétit will be closing its branch on Sept. 27, while One World Deli will close its doors at The Corner House on Sept. 30. Both had a three-year run in San Juan’s open-air community lifestyle hub at the corner of P. Guevarra and C.M. Recto Sts.
“If you don’t already know, Bun Appetit at The Corner House is closing. Our last day of operations will be Sunday, September 27, 2026,” the restaurant wrote in its farewell statement on Instagram, addressing it to the San Juan Community.
“Three years, so much seafood goodness, and even more memories made in this little corner. One last seafood bagel. One last seafood roll. One last grilled cheese. And maybe one more of your usual,” the statement continued.
“We’d love to see you before we say goodbye. Come have one last bite with us. It would mean a lot,” the restaurant added.
Its menu favorites include the seafood rolls: lobster, crab, and shrimp. These also come in grilled cheese sandwiches. Regular diners like to pair these with garlic noodles. Owned by husband-and-wife team Lawrence and Maniya Cua, Bun Appetit gradually added more favorites to its menu over the years. In addition to the crowd favorites are shrimp avocado toast, salmon on salmon toast, squid crudo toast, and langostino roll, among others.
One World Deli said its goodbye on social media, as well.
“Three wonderful years of service at The Corner House. We wouldn’t have it any other way,” the deli wrote.
“As we close this chapter in San Juan, we’re taking a moment to say thank you—for welcoming us, supporting us, and giving us a space to do what we love,” the statement continued.
“But this isn’t goodbye. We’re growing, evolving, and we’re still around! Come visit us one more time before September 30,” it read.
According to the deli’s post, the space One World Deli vacates will be occupied next by International Center for Beginning Beginners.
The closing of their branches at The Corner House doesn’t mean the end for either restaurant, however. One World Deli still has branches in Jupiter St., Makati, SM Mall of Asia, Alabang, Timog, and BGC.
Bun Appetit will keep its stall at The Grid Food Market in Power Plant Mall, Rockwell.
