LEGO’s 2026 Quarterly Gift with Purchase (GWP) series has taken us on a gastronomic tour around the world, introducing us to this delightful collection of restaurants which showcase popular cuisine from different countries.
Each quarter, we’ve gotten a new Restaurant, and for the 4th and final one in the series, we conclude our foodie tour with 40909 Restaurants of the World: Italy, which is available as a free Gift with Purchase when you spend US$180 / AU$295 / £160 / €180 NZD$320 on LEGO.com while stocks last.
The launch of the Restaurants of the World: Italy GWP also coincides with LEGO’s Double Points promotion, which is as good as any time to do some LEGO shopping to qualify for this GWP as you get to maximise your LEGO Insiders points haul which can be used to redeem $$ off as future purchase.
Let’s jump into a quick review of 40909 Restaurants of the World: Italy!

Each Restaurants of the World set comes with a unique and exclusive minifigure, and for Italy, we get this cheery looking Pizza Chef, with a white top, and a semi-circle pizza logo above his breast pocket.

There’s some fabric details on the back, and no alternate face, but his warm pink legs are relatively rare, as they were only introduced this year and has so far only appeared in one set, 76473 Hogwarts Castle: East Wing for Gilderoy Lockhart’s minifigure.

Here’s a look at the completed set. It makes sense to finish on a high in Italy. Italian food culture is absolutely elite, and Pizzerias and Pizza also has a strong affinity with The LEGO Group, and Denmark as a whole, as Danes warmly embraced the iconic Italian dish from the 1950s onward.

Cheese on dough baked in ovens proved irresistible to the Danes, and you may remember classic sets like 6350 Pizza-to-Go which was introduced in 1994’s LEGO Town theme, and since then, Pizza has been a core staple food for LEGO minifigures. 6350 was also instrumental in cementing Pizza into 90s LEGO with the introduction of the printed 2×2 Pizza tile.

Back to the set, like the other Restaurants of the World, there is an oversized sign featuring the signature dish of the restaurant, in this case a delicious slice of Margherita Pizza, which can be swivelled and positioned in multiple angles, hovering over the terracotta tile roof.

Here’s a look at the stickered Pizzeria sign.

There are some tables for diners out the front, above the entrance archway.

Here’s a look at the menu.

The sides of the restaurant feature some small architectural details, like dark green window shutters, and a wall fountain on the left side, which is very Italian.

On the inside, is a small kitchen for preparing Pizza, complete with some cheese, tomato sauce, and some herbs, as well as a stone oven. There are also very distinct elements that you might find familiar in Italian restaurants, such as glasses, and bottles perched on shelves.

Needless to say, building the set made me hungry for Pizza, and while I can’t quite go to Italy, it did inspire me to order a Margherita Pizza from my local Pizzeria as a reward for completing the build.
The Completed Restaurants of the World GWP Collection

With 40909 Restaurants of the World: Italy, we can finally complete the 2026 Restaurants of the World series. If you’ve been collecting these, each of the Restaurants of the World were released on a quartely basis, and we have: 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan (Q1), 40907 Restaurants of the World: Mexico (Q2) and 40908 Restaurants of the World: Greece (Q3).
Needless to say, I’ve had a really fun time collecting these, and these might have to be my favourite Quarterly GWP series that LEGO has ever done! I’m somewhat of a foodie myself, and it was a lot of fun seeing Japanese, Mexican, Greek and Italian food represented in this series.

A key standout to me were the exclusive minifigures included with each Restaurant, which did a lot of heavy lifting to localise these more, as you’re able to personify the cuisine thanks to these delightful minifigures.
Only 4 Restaurants feel like you’re scratching the surface when it comes to global cuisine, and I really hope we see LEGO continue this series in 2027 and beyond, as you can have a near limitless number of Restaurants and Foods from different nations represented.
Food is such a universally beloved ingredient of travel and culture, so I’m definitely hungry for more Restaurants of the World!

40909 Restaurants of the World: Italy is a delicious way to end our culinary journey around the world, and you can score the set as a free Gift with Purchase (GWP). when you spend US$180 / AU$295 / £160 / €180 NZD$320 on LEGO.com while stocks last.
What do you think of the 2026 LEGO Restaurants of the World Series? Which ones were your favourite, and would you like to see more from this series?
