Viet-Nam Restaurant has stood the test of time on San Antonio’s ever-changing Broadway corridor, serving Vietnamese fare since the original owner, Quan Tang, took over the building in 1993. More recently, locals have wondered whether the fixture has called it quits after multiple customers reported the restaurant had been closed for some time.

A Reddit thread about Viet-Nam popped up earlier this week, helping put the restaurant back on MySA’s radar. The original post said the restaurant has been closed or unavailable since at least Halloween. We tried to reach out by calling the business, but both times we called, no one answered.

Around noon on Thursday, November 5, MySA visited Viet-Nam in person. Instead of the restaurant being open for lunch, it was closed, with a sign on the front door stating as much. A man who appeared to be doing maintenance on the building told us that the owner of Viet-Nam had temporarily closed the business, but he could not confirm when the spot might reopen to the public.

Viet-Nam Restaurant does not appear to have a social media presence or a legitimate website for contacting the business. The restaurant appears as a to-go order option on the Favor Delivery app. MySA obtained an inspection report for the eatery dated July 2, 2026. In the report, Viet-Nam received a score of 79, which equates to a letter grade of C.
