A Charlotte restaurant is one of the top spots for Labor Day eats in the US

If you’re not in the mood to fire up the grill this Labor Day weekend, this Charlotte restaurant might be the perfect spot to grab some backyard favorites.

DoorDash named Eddie’s Place Restaurant, a Cajun-inspired eatery in Cotswold, as one of its Top Burger and Hot Dog Spots for Labor Day, highlighting standout small and medium-sized restaurants across the country ahead of the holiday on Sept. 7.

The restaurant joins Sean’s Shack in Raleigh and Sup Dogs in Greenville on DoorDash’s North Carolina list.

The menu at Eddie’s Place includes a Burger Your Way, served on a hamburger bun with one choice of topping, and a Grilled All Beef Hot Dog, with all the works including chili, slaw, onions, mustard and ketchup.

Breakfast is also served all day, with options including chicken and waffles (an enormous pecan-fried chicken breast on a fresh-baked waffle, with honey cinnamon butter on the side), eggs Benedict, omelets, breakfast burritos and ciabatta French toast.

And aside from burgers and dogs, the lunch and dinner menu includes po’ boys, muffuletta sandwiches, shrimp and grits, red beans and rice, Cajun pasta, seafood platters and the restaurant’s popular she-crab soup.

If you want something hearty, go with the gumbo — one of the dishes I got during my most recent visit – and enjoy a generous portion of chicken, sausage and rice drowned in warm broth.

Most breakfast dishes run between $7-$15, while appetizers generally cost $9-$16. Sandwiches and burgers typically fall in the $12-$16 range, and most lunch and dinner entrees cost between $13-$20.
