Taking place from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October at Restaurant Story on Tooley Street, London Bridge, the collaboration will bring together Achatz with Restaurant Story chef Tom Sellers and executive chef Tom Phillips for a 14-course tasting menu.
The menu is being created jointly by the three chefs and will combine elements of the two restaurants’ approaches to cooking and presentation. Restaurant Story says the menu will be created specifically for the three-night event and will not be repeated.
A bespoke wine pairing is also being developed by Restaurant Story group beverage manager Carolina W. Seibel, with the restaurant saying it will draw on dates and events connected to the three chefs.
The communal table experience is priced at £525 per person.
“This is a dream collaboration for us,” says Phillips.
“Grant is someone I’ve admired for years – his approach to storytelling through food has shaped so much of how we think about menus at Restaurant Story.
“Bringing Alinea to London Bridge is something really special, and I can’t wait for our guests to experience what we’ve created together.”
Achatz adds: “Restaurant Story is built around creativity, narrative and a strong sense of identity.
“We’re excited to bring our teams together in London and see what happens when those ideas intersect.”
Alinea, which was founded in Chicago in 2005 by Achatz, previously held three Michelin stars since the guide’s inaugural edition in 2011, but was downgraded to two stars in 2025. The restaurant is known for its modernist and multi-sensory approach to fine dining.
Restaurant Story, founded by Tom Sellers in 2013, also holds two Michelin stars. The London restaurant is part of Sellers’ HiStory Hospitality group, which also includes Story Cellar, MOR in Cornwall, The Penn at Stoke Park and Gwyn’s Bakery.
Restaurant Story is also running a competition linked to the collaboration, offering a table for four on the final night. According to the restaurant’s announcement, entrants must purchase a limited-edition Restaurant Story x Alinea T-shirt and correctly answer a skill-based question.
