WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Citing budget cuts, Watertown City Council was reminded at last week’s work session that the city’s annual Christmas parade will not take place this year.
I appreciate the difficult decisions the council has to make due to the budget. Thank you for making these tough decisions. I have lived in Watertown for 30 years and we have raised 4 kids here. I never knew we had a Christmas parade. – Judy Goodman

The state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision walks back a proposal saying it’s not building a new prison… but a document released by the agency last week suggested otherwise.

The Beaver River Central School District has amended a policy banning outside food and drinks in classrooms, following a public hearing that drew a large crowd after an honors student was suspended for bringing coffee to class.
