Boot Barn is moseying up to Kyle, a booming town off I-35 south of Austin.

A growing Central Texas town off I-35 is set to see several new developments take shape over the next few years. Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse and more have all set plans to build new locations in Kyle.
Located about 20 miles south of Austin, Kyle has attracted dozens of big businesses over the years including H-E-B, Walmart and even Amazon. More recently, the city has seen several multi-million dollar investments this year for new restaurants, education facilities and retail stores on the horizon.

With the population of Kyle increasing by 53 percent since the past census, it stands to reason development will come along with it. Here’s a roundup of the biggest new developments coming to Kyle:
Boot Barn
Boot Barn is building a nearly $16.4 million new store at 255 Kyle Park Ave., Suite 300, in Kyle, according to a June Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. The nationwide western wear retailer set plans to begin construction on the store in early July with hopes to finish the Boot Barn by September 1, 2027. This nearly 15,000-square-foot Boot Barn will be part of a new shopping center slated for Kyle Park, a 101-acre mixed use development located at the northwest corner of Interstate 35 and Bebee Road.

Dick’s Sporting Goods
Dick’s Sporting Goods is also planting a nearly $16.4 million store in Kyle Park, according to a TDLR. The store will be located at 255 Kyle Park Ave., Suite 1000, Kyle, TX 78640. The scope of work for the project includes a nearly 50,000-square-foot new build out of the massive sports store space. Construction on the new store was expected to begin in July and is slated to be finished by September 1, 2027.

Burlington
Discounted clothing retailer Burlington has also solidified plans for a nearly $16.4 million store within Kyle Park, per another TDLR. The nearly 21,000-square-foot Burlington will be located at 255 Kyle Park Ave., Suite 900, Kyle, TX 78640. Construction on the store was planned for early July and it’s estimated to also be completed by September 2027.

Austin Community College
The Austin Community Colleges District broke ground on its new Healthcare Professions Building at its Hays campus in Kyle on Tuesday, September 22. This new expansion aims to strengthen ACC’s Healthcare Professions Division, which prepares students for various healthcare career fields through academic and workforce programs. The $101 million building will have three stories including instructional building with classrooms, administrative offices, a testing center, vocational training, instructional spaces, and laboratories, according to a TDLR. Construction is projected to finish by August 21, 2028.

Olive Garden
In September, Italian restaurant chain Olive Garden set plans for a $4 million restaurant in Kyle. The restaurant, which will be the city’s first Olive Garden, will be located at 19865 I-35, Kyle, TX 78640, according to a TDLR. The filing estimates that construction on the restaurant is expected to begin on June 14, 2027 and is slated to be completed by December 20, 2027.

LongHorn Steakhouse
Earlier this month, another Darden restaurant, LongHorn Steakhouse, set plans for its first $3.5 million location in Kyle. The LongHorn will be located at 19889 I-35, per its TDLR. Construction on the new eatery is expected to begin on December 14 and is slated to be completed by June 21, 2027.
