Restaurant Week in West Haven and Milford is an easy excuse to go out to eat and try new places — from a romantic spot to a waterfront eatery or a beachy Latin place.
Taking place Sept. 25 to Oct. 4, West Haven & Milford Regional Restaurant Week is 10 days long and will feature about a dozen restaurants, according to Simon McDonald, director of membership and marketing for the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“There is so much incredible food being served right here in our own backyard,” McDonald said in a news release. “Restaurant Week gives everyone a reason to get out, try someplace new, support our local businesses, and have a great meal along the way.”
Restaurants will be offering special prix fixe menus exclusively during Restaurant Week, according to McDonald. And there is variety.
“We have Thai food, Latin food, American food, Italian food, seafood. Basically, if you are in the mood for food, we’re going to have something that will fill that need,” McDonald said in a phone interview.
For some buzzy eateries and local staples, McDonald suggests making dinner plans early.
“If you go to Bin 100 during Restaurant Week, make a reservation — even if it’s Tuesday,” he said about the award-winning restaurant in Milford that’s participated in the event now in its fifth year.
Dining out at participating eateries during restaurant week is a way of “supporting the local restaurants, chefs, servers, bartenders, and small businesses that help make West Haven and Milford vibrant communities,” he said in the release.
