A Central Ohio cookie business faced a robbery over the weekend and now is reopening thanks to a kind neighbor.
Kenna’s Cookies, a micro-bakery cart, is run by McKenna Dykstra from her Grove City home at 2179 Balais Ct. On September 27, Dykstra posted on her brand’s TikTok account in tears, claiming a car drove up and took the entire cookie cart, including the cash box.
“I don’t get why people have to be this way,” Dykstra says in the post. She also made two other TikTok posts revealing security camera footage of the suspect driving in the cul-de-sac and leaving with the cookie cart. Dykstra asked followers to help identify the man in the video.

The robbery happened at around 12:47 p.m. on Sunday, according to Dykstra’s Facebook post. Kenna’s Cookies is open from 10 a.m. until it sells out, leading Dykstra to believe the suspect took a significant amount of cash along with the rest of the cart.
Dykstra was planning to keep Kenna’s Cookies closed until further notice as they navigate the theft, but a kind community member reached out after viewing her TikToks and offered Dykstra an old cooler cart that they had stored in their garage.
Dykstra graciously accepted and is now planning to reopen business as usual on October 1; the cart will be placed on her front porch and heavily monitored with a new camera setup.
