Deer Valley Fire & Flavor Festival
Deer Valley’s Fire & Flavor Festival (deervalley.com), one of the resort’s marquee summer events, returns July 18-19 with another weekend dedicated to cooking over open flames. Hosted at Silver Lake, the festival brings together regional chefs, live-fire cooking techniques, local breweries, beautiful mountain scenery and, perhaps most importantly, an eight-foot paella pan. This weekend’s lineup features Matilda & Gozney Pizza serving signature wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, and guests can also explore additional food vendors, beverage offerings, and chef demonstrations throughout the festival. With its combination of outdoor dining, mountain views, and culinary programming, Fire & Flavor has become a popular summer tradition for both local food enthusiasts and visitors. Admission is included with summer lift access.
Utah Asian & Anime Market
The Utah Asian & Anime Market will take place at the Viridian Event Center (8030 S. 1825 West) in West Jordan, July 17-19. Equal parts food festival, pop-culture convention and local maker market, the free event brings together dozens of vendors serving ramen, takoyaki, bao, desserts, boba and other Asian specialties alongside cosplay, artists and collectibles. One of the more distinctive additions to Utah’s summer festival calendar, the market highlights local creators while offering visitors the chance to sample a wide variety of Asian cuisines in one place. In addition to food vendors, attendees can browse handmade goods, artwork and specialty merchandise, making the event as much a community gathering as a culinary destination.
20 Region Wine Dinner
For diners looking for something a bit more refined, Veneto Ristorante (venetoslc.com) is hosting its 20 Region Wine Dinner on July 20. The evening is designed as a culinary tour of Italy, featuring 20 regional dishes paired with 20 wines representing each of the country’s wine-producing regions. The multicourse dinner showcases the diversity of Italian cuisine and winemaking, offering guests the opportunity to experience flavors from across Italy without leaving Salt Lake City. Reservations are $275 per person, and seating is limited.
