PepsiCo recalled 122,000 cases of Gatorade sold nationwide, including in South Carolina, for ingredients that could be potentially dangerous.

More than 120,000 cases of Gatorade have been recalled nationwide, including in South Carolina, because of undeclared food dyes that could harm consumers.

PepsiCo, which is a global leader in producing food and beverages, began the voluntary product recall on Sept. 25 according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The recall is specifically for 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero, Gatorade Orange and Gatorade Orange Zero. The FDA said these sports drinks contained unlisted food colorings Yellow No. 6 and/or Yellow No. 5.

The beverage was recalled in 37 states, including Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.

The recall was listed as Class II as of Oct. 2, which according to the FDA means exposure to the drinks “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

It’s currently unknown if customers who purchased the recalled Gatorade would be eligible for a refund, according to CBS.
