The Downtown Boise Association organizes the 10-day food and beverage promotion. The Idaho Community Foundation is the presenting sponsor.

According to a release, the participating businesses will offer special menus in addition to their regular offerings, along with social hours and other culinary experiences, according to the association.

“The Downtown Boise Association makes Taste of Downtown a standout week for our community,” said Dave Krick, whose businesses include Bittercreek, Red Feather and Diablo & Sons. “We’re proud to participate and showcase our focus on local producers and enjoy what makes downtown Boise dining special.”

This year’s event also includes a nonprofit giveaway. Participants can nominate an Idaho 501(c)(3) nonprofit for a chance to win one of two unrestricted $500 grants from the Idaho Community Foundation. Nominations are free.

“Taste of Downtown Boise brings people together to explore local restaurants, support downtown businesses, and enjoy our community,” said Evin Bask, senior philanthropic director at the Idaho Community Foundation. “This nonprofit nomination giveaway extends that spirit of local support by giving Idahoans an easy way to celebrate the organizations that strengthen communities across our state.”

The event also introduces the Eventzee digital passport, which lets diners earn badges and challenge friends as they visit participating businesses.

Menus are posted online at downtownboise.org/taste, along with hours, age restrictions and whether each business accepts the Downtown Boise Gift Card. Organizers recommend that diners make reservations ahead of time and mention Taste of Downtown when they do. Prix fixe prices are generally per person and do not include tax or gratuity.

Organizers encourage attendees to share photos and videos on social media, tagging @DowntownBoise and using #TasteDowntownBoise.
