The Delaware Restaurant Association (DRA) this week announced the launch of a new category for its annual Cornerstone Awards: the Excellence in Service Award.
The new award celebrates the hospitality professionals who are the heart of Delaware’s restaurant industry, recognizing the servers, bartenders, hosts, managers, bussers and other front-line team members whose dedication, professionalism and commitment to exceptional service create memorable experiences for guests every day.
For the first time, restaurant owners, coworkers, guests and community members are being invited to nominate the hospitality professionals who consistently go above and beyond to create exceptional dining experiences.
Whether it’s remembering a regular guest’s favorite order, leading a team through a busy service, or delivering outstanding hospitality day after day, the Excellence in Service Award recognizes the individuals whose dedication makes Delaware’s restaurants thrive.
Nominations are now open and will be accepted through July 31. Following the nomination period, the public will have the opportunity to vote for finalists throughout August.
The winner will be honored during the Cornerstone Awards Ceremony on Oct. 5, where the Delaware Restaurant Association will celebrate the outstanding individuals and restaurants that strengthen Delaware’s hospitality community.
“This award is about recognizing the people who make our industry exceptional every day,” said Carrie Leishman, president and CEO of the Delaware Restaurant Association. “Our hospitality professionals are the cornerstone of every great guest experience, and we’re excited to give the community an opportunity to celebrate them.”
Nominations are open through July 31. Anyone who wishes to submit a nomination can submit nominations by completing the online nomination form or by emailing elizabeth@delawarerestaurant.org. Individuals may nominate one or more hospitality professionals who exemplify outstanding service, professionalism and dedication to Delaware’s restaurant industry.
