
We make the spicy pickled beets recipe from the Ball blue book guide to preserving book every year. We love them but when we first made them found the spices, like the Allspice, too strong. So now we wrap all the spices in cheesecloth while making the liquid and heating the beets. We taste as we go and pull the packet out when it’s just right.

Nice! I never tried beets until I was 60. Not bad.
That sounds good, I love spiced beets, not made them in years. I’ll check up on the recipe.
