Had the same experience — it’s fine red sauce Italian, but we have so many better places

It’s all right. Was nothing spectacular. Cool space. The bread was the best thing I ate and I’m pretty sure it’s just a half a loaf of Tartine soaked in butter and garlic and topped with cheese.

I live in Los Feliz and finally and belatedly went to La Pergoletta for my first time on my birthday and enjoyed it. I have not been to Donna’s, but after reading the reviews I don’t think I’m going to go there, but I will say it has really cozy decor which is nicer than La Pergoletta.

thought the food was okay, but the tiramisu here is sooo good! i would go back for just that.

I miss the red sauce Italian place that used to be in the Osen space. Di Amore or something to that affect. It’s a shame a lot of the old family places have been pushed out.

Pretty badly written article even if their critique has merit

Aw that sucks. I just looked at the prices and it seems a bit high for mid italian food. For a bit more you could just go to Mozza and have an amazing meal.

This is such a poorly written review. I don’t mean the reasons for their criticism I mean straight up like the craft of the writing isn’t there. Hard af to read

I went last week with my wife on a double date we ate family style.

    Atmosphere

Solid, I waited an hour for a table for 4 on a Saturday without a reservation. There are a lot of bars to wait at near by.

    Cocktails

I don’t drink so I had a good mocktail, it was called a non Collins, it was nice. My wife loved her drinks and my friends did as well. I have quit drinking due to excessive drinking and from what I could see it looked like the bartenders know what they are doing.

    Appetizer

Anti pasta plate was ok, nothing special

    Meal

Tonnota Caesar Salad: Delicious. I was so happy people at my table didn’t give this much attention, so I ate the majority.

Spaghetti and Meat Balls: Meat Ball was amazing, the pasta was good but was not spaghetti, is was bucatini.

Chicken Parmesan: I don’t like the dish (I never have) but my wife said it was the best she has had in a while.

Fusilli All Vodka: My favorite. Hot damn this was good. I would eat some right now.

    Dessert

Cannolis: They suck so bad. My God, what a terrible way to end the meal. They tasted like they were made for a kids birthday party. I just wanted a good frickin cannoli and I’m still pissed about it.

I give it a 3.7/5 and it would be a 4 if it wasn’t for the Cannoli. I think you can get a really good meal out of this place but I thought the dessert was so bad it caused me to question the chef.

    That’s my take.

I liked Donna’s. The garlic bread was indeed very garlicky, I disagree with the author completely.

The chicken parmigiana was nothing special, but the portion was gigantic. This somewhat justified the price. The cocktails were fantastic.

Not a place I need to visit again but it was a nice experience. If someone asked me to join them there I’d happily oblige to try new items.
