Wow, had no idea about fatstack. Any idea what happened?

Man, that sucks – I knew fatstack was around, but never really paid attn since it was more i’d be able to spend on a smoker. Sounds like they grew too fast and the bottom dropped out. I saw a cpl other threads blaming Jeremy for featuring their smokers in his videos, but i’m sure he had no idea that FS was so cash strapped.

That’s pretty awesome of Jeremy to go out of his way to try and help people rectify a shitty situation that he had absolutely nothing to do with. Seems like a solid guy.

Sounds like TMG Pitts is willing to give you a reduced a deposit to go in the queue, then you pay 50% on the build, then the balance upon completion. And you get a free $125 charcoal chimney. So not really a deal overall; but at least they’re willing to give free charcoal chimney, when they really don’t have to do anything at all.

Goldee’s is taking a $500 bath on their pit for FatStack customers (so $3,750 + shipping). Many of the FatStack customers are already out $4,000-$50,000 for paying everything up front. …can’t imagine they’re going to dump another $4,500 on a new pit. I dunno. Maybe they will. This whole thing is unbelievably shitty…

Regardless, the cool factor alone of the Goldee’s + their $500 off for existing FS customers could be damn tempting. Especially if you’re only out $500 on the deposit.

Another good option, without even having to get a discount is Workhorse Pits. I’d highly consider getting in their queue, as a 1975 starts at $2,800 + shipping (about $500-$600), and the 1975 trailer starts at $4,300. If you don’t need a giant pit, then their 1969 starts at $2,300 + shipping. Even the little 1957 is an option starting at $2,150 + shipping.

…if I know I’m only going to be cooking for family and a few friends, that 1957 is looking like a damn good option right now.

I specifically put a deposit down, and paid in full, after watching his video.. I’m in the middle of a credit card dispute, about the purchase. Luckily I have USAA, which is an awesome credit union.. I just bit the bullet and bought a workhorse 1975 They were very aware of the situation as well. Its such a shame, but I see the bbq world coming together to help each other out.
