I wanted ribs, never cooked ribs before, but I know they sell slabs preseasoned and all that jazz, so figured wouldn’t be hard.
I plopped a slab (I think it was around 2-3lbs) in my basket, was going to cost me around $11.89. Then moments later I saw this mammoth on reduced price. Almost double the weight, for less money.
Any advice how to cook this? Bonus points if I can carve this up into portions and freeze the rest for another day.

There’s gonna be a membrane on one side that you’ll want to remove. You can watch a YouTube on that.
Low and slow is great for ribs. Give it a nice dry rub that includes brown sugar, or some bbq sauce
Remove membrane. Salt and pepper. Cook at 275° for 4 hours. Take out, load up bbq sauce. Broil for 15 mins per side. Enjoy
Braise
Careful, once you make your own ribs you can never enjoy any from a restaurant that doesn’t have several whole pigs cooking at the same time out back.
For these I remove the membrane, put it in a foil packet that has roughly chopped jalapeños, garlic, soy sauce, and sugar. Seal the packet, cook it low and slow for hours (like 250 for 5 hours). Then unseal the packet, drain drippings (and do whatever you would like with them), lay out the ribs and give them a fast and super hot sear with the broiler on either side
Microwave
Schnucks deli is goated
Throw it in a crockpot with bbq sauce and a small jar of cherry preserves and a quarter cup of honey. On low ALL DAY. It will be the best ribs you ever had. Fall apart delicious but the jam and the honey make the sauce stick to the meat. I will not eat ribs any other way
Removing membrane can be slimy. I grab it with a paper towel and it usually comes off fairly easy. Salt, pepper, wrap in foil. 250 oven about 4 hrs. Then Sweet Baby James, grill to brown or under broiler. Fall off the bone awesome
Pulled pork in instant pot with a good bbq rub. My other fave is pork carnitas – also instant pot. Many recipes online. You will need to cut off a lot of fat before cooking
Rib rub then wrap in foil and bake low and slow. 250F for 4-5 hrs or maybe 275F for 3ish? I forget the times exactly but remove from foil when tender but still holds together. Then broil at higher heat with some sauce on it.
