It’s a pet peeve that places like [Block Club](https://blockclubchicago.org/2020/02/26/chicagos-egg-and-pepper-sandwiches-remain-a-staple-during-lent-and-the-rest-of-the-year/) (which I normally think is great) say those are “decidedly Chicagoan” when they were also common in parts of the Northeast with lots of Italians in the past and plenty of places out there still have them.
