Bourdeto- Traditional Corfu Dish
Bourdeto is the most famous fish dish of Corfu. Bourdeto is made with different sorts of fish (scorpion fish is said to be the best) cooked in a spicy sauce. Bourdeto the traditional recipe is a fisherman’s food, so they did it with the simple ingredients they had, such as lots of red pepper, both hot and sweet, and a good dose of lemon juice added in the end of cooking, they never used tomato or any tomato paste. Serve immediately with fries, fresh bread and a salad and a lot of greek wine.
Ingredients:
4 scorpions fish
2 big onions (chopped)
2-3 tablespoon sweet red pepper
1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper
150ml.olive oil
400ml.warm water
100ml.fresh lemon juice
chopped parsley and extra virgin olive oil for garnish
