Last year another redditor posted a chili recipe with a cornbread top, very inspiring stuff. It’s not quite done but already so so pretty. Just 2.5 more hours
2 lb ground beef
1 onion
1 celery stalk
1 12 oz can Pinto Beans
1 12 oz can kidney beans
1 12 oz can tomato sauce
1 12 oz can diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon cumin
2 tablespoons chili powder packet
New Mexico chili powder to hearts content
Shot of maple syrup
1 Jiffy cornbread mix
1 egg
1 cup heavy cream (consistency is more important than quantity here)
(Some of these are eyeball measurements, a lot made from whatever I had in the pantry) this is not a tested recipe!!
Brown meat before adding to all other ingredients and cook on high 3 hours.
Add cornbread mix as evenly distributed dollops on top, then cook for 3 more hours
