  1. my mum always used a bit of sauerkraut in the filling and in the sauce… without the sugar… i don't like sweet stuffed cabbage.

  2. @ssnakezor I disagree! Although that might be a regional thing, but in my family we never use pickled cabbage!

  3. Golabki Polish Stuffed Cabbage Casserole. Serves 4. Corning ware Baking Dish Rectangle Lasagna pan 13×11 + tinfoil
    350° Oven. Cook 21/2 hr's. I used Muir Glenn organic tomato sauce (organic tomato purée style ) Yum 2022

    Yummy Casserole style = Remove core, Cut in half, Boil halves 10 min's upside down in lidded pot. Chop finely (chopper)
    *Casserole Version Layer: Cabbage bottom, Meat mixture middle, Cabbage top, Sauce last.

    1 small head cabbage cooked chopped cool
    *Meat Mixture: mix thoroughly:
    1 onion minced, sautéed in olive oil, season well, cooled
    1 cup cooked minute rice 1/8 teaspoon salt, cool
    1 egg beaten slightly
    1 lb. lean Ground Sirloin
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1/8 tsp. onion powder
    1/8 tsp. paprika
    a sprinkle cinnamon
    *Sauce Mixture: mix together:
    (Muir Glenn organic tomato sauce, organic tomato purée style)
    2 15oz. can tomato sauce
    1/2 cup water
    4 tsp. sugar
    Pour over your casserole
    Cover in Tinfoil Bake 350° 21/2 hr's

    Serve with Mashed Potatoes.
    Even Better the 2nd day Enjoy'

  4. Wilting the cabbage is a very good idea saves you one extra step and you don't boil out the nutrients from the cabbage very smart
