Stop posting pictures of your cooked meals.

Nobody cares, most people cancel their subscriptions due to the increasing amounts of rotten ingredients and poor customer service that has been outsourced to the Philippines, and t[he company is apparently getting increasingly desperate to hold on to the nickels and dimes that fall out of customer’s pocket](https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/comments/17kkcjt/comment/k78unsi/)s.

[The sub underwent an interesting cultural shift maybe 4 years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/comments/eqq27y/polling_this_subs_opinion/), and in 2023 is filled with bots and sock accounts that the company purchased as part of a social media advertising package. The comments are extremely condescending, aggressive, and tend to focus around the same rhetorical themes and responses to common criticisms. The general understanding is that users can have discussions about common issues through private message, but cannot in an open thread.

Mods seem to be equally obnoxious and promote this kind of environment where these interactions are deemed acceptable; HOWEVER, there is an interesting dynamic in that the mods don’t seem to be affiliated with Hellofresh official at all. Sometimes even the sock accounts will run afoul of the moderation rules, such as the sharing of discount codes in unapproved threads.

The company is going downhill, hard. Meals are getting worse, customer service is tanking, and the company’s approach appears to be to go harder on stamping out public criticism, tricking people in more elaborate ways to sign up for meals (payment confirmation is no longer required–transactions run through successfully even with fake payment information. Want some more sources:

Here’s an AMA from a former warehouse worker, apparently HF was a terrible employer and sanitation conditions are disgusting: [https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/comments/13nf20c/ask\_me\_anything/](https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/comments/13nf20c/ask_me_anything/)

OP is from US, others chimes in from Canada, a separate thread was made alleging the same thing from Sweden.

Follow up to AMA: [https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/comments/13trl5x/follow\_up\_on\_my\_ask\_me\_anything\_post/](https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/comments/13trl5x/follow_up_on_my_ask_me_anything_post/)

The original AMA was locked because OP allegedly didn’t provide any qualifications or proof of affiliation. OP subsequently provided the requested proof, and mods ignored their request. Thread is still locked, you will notice.

Sorry but I like seeing pictures of the meals 🤷🏻‍♀️

I also like seeing pictures and hearing what people think of their meal. I have gotten and loved meals I wouldn’t have personally chose because someome here raved about it. This post is way too negative. If you don’t enjoy it then it is very easy to unsubscribe.

I didn’t realize HelloFresh was so polarizing

Your sources are all jokes. The BBB and….other Reddit posts and comments? Lol. Interesting choices. I love Hello Fresh, am not a bot, and enjoy seeing what other people cook. Bye!

My wife and I have used hello fresh for several years, mostly alternating with Marley spoone and occasionally blue apron. I appreciate hearing about the meals – I’m a picky eater and like the input of others. I’m not a bot or sock (whatever that is). I spend the vast majority of the little time I have for Reddit on subs about finances and watches. I don’t think this was a fair characterization of this sub at all.

Hey now for what it counts, i love seeing the pictures and how my skills compare to yalls.

You could always just ✨leave the subreddit✨

And are the bots in the room with us now?

I’m here for this post. Since love is blind season 5 sucked so bad, I’ll take this type of trashy drama 😂

Do you work for a competitor? 🙂

In all seriousness, I 100% agree with the quality. Nearly all the ingredients are now imported from 3rd world countries that have virtually no standards or regulations.

  11. You are correct. I prefer hearing people gatekeeping and telling us how to do things.

I enjoy meal photos and modification tips. It’s literally the only reason why I follow and participate in this sub.

If you don’t like a post, just scroll by.

I definitely agree with the first half of your argument. People here are so chill with rotten produce and bugs in their produce that I’ve been suspicious for a while.

I don’t care if you are fed up. I like it… the food and quality… and I will continue to post.

I enjoy seeing how other people make there meals, I haven’t had any issues with hello fresh either which is why I switched from Home Chef. Seems like you can easily leave this subreddit and stop using hello fresh if it bothers you so bad. Plus this sub is a lot more helpful and kind that the other food services I use. I couldn’t even read past your tangent because honestly, its not that big of a deal, cancel your subscription and move on.
