Today, Australian comedian Joe Avati and I are finally in the kitchen together, cooking up a storm – a delicious Moroccan Beef Tagine!
Try this at home, let me know how you go and how you made it your own.
Ingredients:
– Harissa (2 Tablespoons)
– Cinnamon
– Ras El Hanout (Moroccan Spices)
– Dates
– Dried Figs
– Smoked Passata
– Carrots
– Onions
– Coriander/Mint
– Butter
– Beef (Oyster Blade)
Method:
– Melt butter into pan
– Add meat to pan
– Make harissa paste by mixing with boiling water (1:1 ratio)
– Dice carrots and onion
– Take meat off pan once browned
– Roughly chop dates
– Add vegies to bowl and mix in Harissa paste
– Add 3 teaspoons of Rasa el Hanout
– Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
– Mix in dates and figs
– Add passata
– Add 4 tablespoons of honey and mix
– Stir in left over butter and meat juices from pan
– Add meat to tagine on medium-low
– Add vegetables to meat
– Leave to simmer until meat is tender
– Plate and serve with cous cous!
