I was in Georgetown for a play at Southwestern University on Sunday and stopped at the Italian Restaurant across the street near campus: Tony & Luigi’s.
I live far enough into north Austin where sometimes I think it’s a quicker drive to Georgetown than getting to some restaurants in South Austin when traffic hits.
Had a pretty hearty Eggplant Parmigiana for $15, one the cheapest entrees on the rather large menu of pastas, pizzas and proteins. The dish was a double cutlet of eggplant, had a good crisp on the outside, not too mushy inside, stacked with some fettuccini.
Thought it was a pretty good deal. It’s a neighborhood place with the traditional Italian ambiance: red tablecloths, bottles of Chianti stacked at the bar, Frank Sinatra songs on repeat. Felt really comfy on a cold, rainy Sunday evening. They have live music on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
The bar is decorated with a lot of Red Sox memorabilia. Told the bartender I would recommend this place to friends who like the Sox, and not friends who like the Yanks. Hah.

Tony & Luigis had wicked good food. I somehow missed the Sox paraphernalia, though. I guess we should head back soon!!!
