Lol I get it! I hate oil splatter in the house, I can never seem to find it all afterwards and old oil smell makes me slightly nauseous. I actually put an old cookie sheet behind the stove to keep it off the backsplash.

From someone who used to wipe down their kitchen wall surfaces after cooking, I totally get it.

I swear it’s an Asian thing. I try to cook all my steaks or anything oily outside so it doesn’t stink the apartment. I put foil wrap on my stove top so I can just throw it out in a week or two and the clean up is super easy and fast.

Your not alone. We do all of ours kbbq in our lanai to keep the splatters out of the house but I still get the occasional oil splatter on the skin

In Korea they lay down newspaper, but that’s hard to come by these days because everything’s digital.
You’re killing that bbq set up though! Need more pics of the final result

what you need is a foldable metal sheet stand around the portable stove (including for the top) to minimize oil splatters, also ventilate and close all your room doors

Didn’t I see this setting in the kdrama where people are kidnapped for their organs? Sliced their belly after the organ harvesting, I see.
