Recently got back from a trip to Vancouver where I was introduced to Aburi-style sushi. It’s essentially flame-seared nigiri (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQAL7QcCi3s). I’m a bit obsessed at the moment.
Does anyone know of restaurants that serve this kind of sushi in LA/OC?

Most places will do this for you if you ask, I like to get aburi otoro so the fat gets into the rice.

Probably not as serious as you want, and it may have been a seasonal item, but the first time I tried aburi was at Kura. They had aburi eel and aburi salmon.
Yes, Kura has Aburi but it can’t even be part of the same sentence as Miku… Miku is amazing
