Mujaddara (also known as Mudardara or Megadara) is a deliciously simple Middle Eastern dish of rice and lentils topped off with caramelised onions. FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/titlisbusykitchen TWITTER: https://twitter.com/Titli_Nihaan
May I have a double order of onions to go with that please?!! Thanks for sharing an easier way to make my newest favorite dish. Love the idea of placing some diced onions in the bottom of the pot to cook with the lentils and the pinch of cinnamon with the cumin.
I usually do my lentils with dice ham, onions sauteed and then add chicken broth, tomato sauce and a splash of white wine. I will definately have to change it up and try this.
It's a wonderful recipe discovery. Can you please post the recipe with measurements and tines in your description as a quick reference to look back on?
If you want onions to melt into your dish, dice them or slice them along the equator. But if you want them visible in the dish, slice them from pole-to-pole (the way the cells grow).
