Hello – Thanks for stopping by! In this video I want to show you how I make Cioppino, the Italian fish stew! I had this fish stew at Tadichs’ Grill in San Francisco many times and fell in love with it. I modify to adjust for the Italian in my blood! LOL.
You can use any type of fish and seafood in this stew as long as it can stand up to the heat without falling apart. We used monk fish, which is sometimes referred to as poor mans lobster. It has a tough texture so it is perfect. The rest of the fish can consist of shellfish and mollusks. The clams and mussels will release those juices into the stew and give it a great flavor. If you are not a fan of the licorice flavored fennel you can leave it out. In the end, just make sure make the Cioppino with enough sauce that you can take some nice crusty Italian bread and dip it.
We usually take the whole pot, sit it on the table and dig into the fish stew without even plating it. A bunch of your favorite beverages along with family and friends nothing can be better.
1 Tbls Olive Oil
1 Cup White Wine
8 Cloves of Garlic sliced
1 Shallot/Onion sliced thin
1 Bulb of Fennel with Ferns sliced thin (optional)

1 lbs Scallops
1 lbs Shrimp
1 Large Can Tomato Paste

How much is "a bunch of your favorite beverages" exactly? 😆Looks delish, and I learned that monk fish is the "poor man's" lobster. Good to know. Thanks for the recipe in the ABOUT section. Some day, I'll try this!
Looks good turn the music down so we can here you!
I would clean the mussels and claims first. I add the fish when I add the shrimp and scallops. Looks good. That pan is really huge. Lol
i love fish and seafood and you certainly have a lot of that in your gigantic pot. that looks good enough to feed a whole family which is the reason that it is being cooked
That is a seafood extravaganza! Wow! You never fail to deliver. Awesome! 😋
This looks amazing! Cioppino over pasta, crusty bread and a glass of wine is one of my most fav dishes. This recipe is similar to Giada DiLaurentis recipe and I love hers. I usually use salmon and add it at the end with the scallops and shrimp. But I'm going to give your recipe a go with the monkfish! Great job!

I like foraging around the coast and i collect alot of things. sometimes i find a crab that i can put in. Something like this makes it really easy to cook everything you forage outside. Im thinking of putting seaweed in aswell.
Nice
But I use a different cooking method
Ure making soup
I like to sear up a zuppa
Ah this feels like good old youtube. East coast meatball but i've been sharpening a good Cioppino. Learned a ton. Got a fan, off to go find some monkfish.
