This week on “Genius Recipes,” Kristen is joined by cookbook author Diane Kochilas to share a life-changing secret: you can, and should, dress pasta with Greek yogurt, especially if you also then top it with caramelized onions and grated pecorino. GET THE RECIPE ►► https://f52.co/33Ief16

INGREDIENTS
5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
6 cups coarsely chopped onions
Sea salt
1 pound tagliatelle or other fresh pasta

  1. "Using something you probably have in your fridge right now," she said, drastically overestimating my having culture(s).

  2. YOGURT? With Caramelized onions AND Pasta?… Hmmm… The force is strange with this one… But I will give it a try. 😉

  3. I imagine that aside from the pecorino, this will have sort of a stroganoff taste. Very comforting. I think I'd be more interested in trying it with the sitaka cheese that was mentioned. Not a huge fan of pecorino myself.

  4. That Diane has a good recipe but she's a little snob about it. I don't like the way she says "WATER" to Kristen (she's kicks ass and she's lovely at the same time)

  5. If you replaced about half of the onions with shredded cabbage cooked until caramelized, you would have the Hungarian dish Kaposzta Teszta. Hungarians would probably use sour cream instead of yogurt. These two dishes are close cousins and excellent comfort food.

  6. That must be a tasty dish . I could imagine dried mint with it .
It seems to me that in the US the pasta is more or less “drowned “ in sauce . Where does that come from?

  7. I never expected to see a traditional recipe from the island of Kasos in an american yt channel.

  8. Made this last night after caramelizing lots of onions over the weekend; SO many layers of yummy flavor! This one is a keeper! Thanks
