  1. AS A PHILLY BOY WITH 6 CHEESE STEAK SHOPS AH YEAH UM NO! BUT I LOVE THIS CHANNEL! (NEVER PROVOLONE) A CHEESESTEAK IS NOT AN “ITALIAN THING” ITS AN AMERICAN THING! ITS EITHER MELTED WHITE AMERICAN OR WHIZ!

  2. I’m from 24th and Passyunk ave & I don’t know anybody that does provolone except for the tourists doing selfies! It’s American or Whiz! I love you Food Wishes with all my heart but this I know!

  3. This channel is quite meditating.
    His presentation is very southing.
His style is quite deliberate. The whole video carries his signature. From his interesting tone, to his one liner jokes that he tosses in once in every video, to his signature outro. Thanks for the awesome content.

  4. Why don't we always just cut with and agenst the grain like that but a bit bigger people always say cut agenst the grain but if you cut your streak it won't matter

  5. Not bad I guess 🙁 but Philly cheesesteak goes with yellow America cheese 🤷🏻‍♂️there is no substitute😎

  6. How are people not commenting on how annoying his voice sounds like in his presentation? Sounds like a fuckin idiot in his narration that I can't handle with the sound on. Holy fuck balls it's so irritating.

  7. I'm from philly. I hate it when people from philly start talking trash when someone makes a non authentic Cheesesteak.

Listen, it's not about making it authentic. Its about how the person is cooking it likes thier steak. They have to eat it, not you. Get off your high horse. If your in philly, go get an authentic cheesesteak and call it a day. Stop talking trash to someone that is trying to create something new.

If everyone made ONLY authentic recipes, and never tried creating anything new, we wouldnt have Cheesesteaks to begin with, hell we probably would still be boiling everything. So stop, chefs are supposed to experiment, because food is thier passion, its what they love to do. If you couldn't experiment with cooking, then being a chef would be extremely boring.

And yes, I was born and raised in philly, and still living in philly.

  8. think about many fancy new years apetizer canapees but i think my boyfriend would be mostly amazed by this . yes i have to make those…

  9. Provolone on a cheesesteak? Could they pick a more bland lifeless flavor to disappear into the sandwich?

  10. "Fresh Nutmeg"
Lights flicker, temperature drops, a strange mist rolls into your kitchen and coalesces into the spirit of John Townsends

  11. There are a gazillion things out there that we try to associate with something great that came before, i.e., Caesar. Let things be what they are. A great little half slider for half time. It's not a Philly Cheese Steak no matter how wonderful.

  12. Love the Sylvester Stallone reference to the Philly cheesesteak, and the “Yo!” In the title. “Gonna Fly Now” with this mini version with the provolone whiz. Thanks Chef John.
