  1. I just tried this today and they were delicious. I have never thought of frying my own clams. Had them in restaurants and it never crossed my mind until now to make them at home. Thanks.

  2. I shuck them alive… It actually isn't hard to do if you are even remotely handy with a knife, and the result for frying is better.

  3. glacial seafood is selling clams for 1.99 a pound on the side of the road in gardiner today and searport i think, so i bought some, then i forgot to boil them! ugh! never again, this is an excellent video, thanks!

  5. I don't think i would eat anything this ole boy had anything to do with. Half those clams were dead and open, before he cooked them. If you are real partial to food poisoning, dig in!

  6. good video, but curious why you cut off the end of the neck? when most people eat steamers they eat the whole neck and all after you pull off the skin

  7. As a kid I grew up eating clam strips at Howard Johnson's restaurants and occasionally at some beach fry shack. Then I tried full belly fried clams and I can never eat those commercially-made frozen fried strips ever again!

  8. Hey capt. Sometimes I get them so big I don't even steam them. But I butterfly the siphon to get sand out then skin comes off. The black part if rub with salt most comes off, more clam👍. Like I said before will eat anyway.lmao. when belly so big should I fry lower temp? Tyvm

  10. We went to a very good restaurant with my daughters, when they were little, They wanted fried clams and asked the waitress if they had bellies. The waitress (being accustomed to this question) answered, "Yes sweeties, I'm sorry they do have the bellies". To the surprise of the waitress, my daughters were THRILLED and ordered immediately.

    We'd eat your fried clams, 100%!!! Thank you for sharing.
