In an effort to preserve its cultural heritage, Italy is banning lab-grown meat. Personally, I feel like this is a mistake given the huge environmentally-friendly potential that cultivated meat has. But then again, Italy’s food heritage is sacred lol. What do people think?

As long as Italy doesn’t move towards factory farming, this isn’t an issue. Small animal farms are not the major contributors to the environment, it is factory farming that is causing the impact. And there is no clear answer to how much energy goes into lab-meat. Factories in general are a problem, so lab-meat may have just as much negative impact on the environment.
