
I made ganjatang for the first time. I used Maangchi’s recipe [https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/gamjatang](https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/gamjatang), but I think I put far too much perilla seed powder and it has a very intense medicinal sort of flavour. Do you have any recommendations for what I can add to balance it out?

Perilla seed powder definitely has a certain taste to it… the only suggestion I have is to make a bat h of the seasoning paste again, without perilla powder, and add a bit at a time (I’m talking tablespoon) back into the soup, maybe balance it out with a bit of extra water too… how much extra do you think you added?
