I’ve been trying to freeze broth. I filled it below the shoulder and it still cracked. I’d really rather not use plastic. Should I just use Pyrex bowls or what?

Is it still hot when you are filling the jars? Rapid temperature changes will crack the jars. Try reusable silicone bags.

I would buy freezer jars or try leaving at least another inch of headspace.

What was the process? This can happen sometimes if you put hot broth in a jar then take it straight to the freezer. Another option is to freeze the broth onto ice cube trays then pop the cubes out and put them in the jars.

I don’t find jars with shoulders ever really work for freezing personally. Maybe try sticking to the straight sided ones?
