Looking for a dish that’s both refreshingly light and packed with nutrients? Figs Carpaccio is the answer!
This appetizer or salad is a delightful combination of protein, vitamins, minerals, and fiber, making it a stellar choice for health-conscious foodies.
The optional cheese and honey add an extra layer of taste and texture, so you can customize it to your liking. Plus, it’s gluten-free and egg-free!
🍽️ Ingredients:
6 fresh figs
1/2 cup of arugula
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon of Balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon of honey
Here’s how to create this masterpiece:
Peel the fresh figs, removing the white part as much as possible, and arrange them on a foil-covered plate. (We used 9 figs for this recipe.)
Cover them with a second piece of foil and stretch it as thin as possible using a board. Pop the plate in the freezer for at least an hour to firm up.
Right before serving, work your culinary magic:
Sprinkle a generous portion of prosciutto, Parmesan leaves, chopped walnuts, and arugula over the figs.
Drizzle a small amount of a delightful olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixture.
To finish, sweeten the whole creation with honey, and serve immediately. If you’re feeling extra fancy, add prosciutto for an optional twist.
