If you want to make someone feel special and make breakfast or a meal a big deal then this is the one!
A variety of flavours and textures you can’t go wrong. A pick of this and a pick of that mmmmm….. 😋
Meze doesn’t have to be served on lots of small plates, put everything on a platter and you will have less washing up to do 😉
Imagine waking up to this platter, the smell of spicy basturma, smokey loukaniko, caramelised sweet tomatoes, charred salty halloumi, eggy eggs (farts 😆) freshly toasted koulouri with a sesame crust and cucumber, olives, chilli’s and sesame breadsticks which you can’t smell but add freshness, bitterness, heat and crunch.
Don’t forget the sprinkling of chopped parsley for the ultimate take you back to Cyprus with it’s fresh earthy flavour.
Recipe
•Grill or bake your basturma and loukaniko
•Chop your tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and bake or grill until caramelised
•Cut halloumi into 1cm thick slices and grill
•Boil your eggs to how you like them
•Toast koulouri or any bread until golden and butter generously
•Slice some cucumbers
Plate Up
•Cut your basturma and loukaniko
•Peel and slice your eggs
•Add everything to your serving dish along with some black olives, chilli’s, sesame bread sticks and finish off with a sprinkling of parsley.
