I’ve tried taking off the motor but couldn’t and it won’t run with all the wet sawdust in it.

I really don’t want to serve lame un-smoked turkey this Thanksgiving, but I might have to bite the bullet and deep fry my bird.

What is securing the motor to the augur? RT’s have a really thick pin

Head to Lowe’s, Home Depot or wherever and buy a new one. Otherwise, thanksgiving is ruined. At least that’s what I would be telling my wife on why I just bought a new smoker.

Pull the pin that connects the auger shaft to the motor shaft, remove motor. Turn auger shaft with channel-lock pliers or vise-grips, turn forward and back while pulling auger out. Once it is out clean everything, use a file to clean the inside of the auger tube then reassemble. I had to do this 3 times before I figured out my Pellet Pro doesn’t like running below 200F. Hasn’t happened since I figured this out. Good luck!

Crap man. My Zgrills did that so I did a total rebuild while I had it apart. You CAN get it cleared but be easy with the motor as the gears are plastic and will strip out then you are toast. Also there is a screw that acts as a shear pin between the motor and auger so careful there. Good Luck. My Masterbuilt electronics took a crap for the 3rd time on Thanksgiving one year. I feel your pain.

Update: I was able to get the auger out and the smoker is back up and running! Only 4hours of work and 2 trips to the hardware store, but well worth it.

Glad you got her fixed, fried Turkey would have been tragic! I had to perform surgery on my PG a couple weeks ago to make sure she was ready for the big show.
