Title. I come from central PA, Amish or PA Dutch pies are hard to beat. But I know Texas has some great desserts, so where are the best pies?

Royers Pie in Round Top. Their sweet n salty pie is basically a brownie pie. Absolutely incredible.

Upper Crust and Quack’s are always winners with my family for the holidays, we get them every year. When I’m feeling like heading out to Round Top for their annual classical music concerts in the summer I hit up Royers, amazing pies and a nice day trip.

Cypress grill in South Austin has Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie. It has been our thanksgiving staple for the past three years 😍

I’d also recommend ordering pies from Round Rock Donuts; but you need to do it in advance. Pick up and pre-order at either location (RR or CP).

I know this isn’t what you’re asking, but my mom makes the best fudge pecan pie, hands down. I wish there were a competition…quintessential Texas pie. One of my favorite moments each year is this pie at Thanksgiving.

Deutsch Apple in Blanco blows everything I’ve had away around here which is why I trek there twice a year just for pie-apple, chocolate cream, pecan among others but they sell out. Once you taste their pies, everything here tastes like trash sorry to say. Texan Cafe comes in at a close second.

recently discovered pie bar in far south austin. they make tiny pies, but they are like 3x the size of “tiny pies” and are not all crust. I recommend them.

Berdoll’s. On highway 71 towards bastrop for Pecan Pies. They must weigh almost five pounds- chock full of pecans: the chocolate pecan pie is a dream. What are their hours you ask? Who cares? They have a 24 hour pecan pie vending machine
