I have the Simonelli Nuova Aurellia Wave espresso machine and i recently bought the ECM Bottomless portafilter.
However whenever i use the bottomless portafilter it leaks water from the side, only with the bottomless, when im using the simonelli portafilters they work perfectly fine.
Not sure what the issue is, is it because its a different brand?
Note: when putting the ecm portafilter it goes further to the right

Huh. Is it the same basket?If I had to guess the grouphead gasket has been shaped by time heat and pressure to the exact shape of the basket on the simonelli portafilter and this one might be slightly different leading to an imperfect seal.
Try changing the gasket, or switching the simonelli basket to the new bottomless portafilter

Too fine grind, basket diameter ain’t the right one, group head gasket has a tear on it.
You need to get a bottomless portafilter designed for Simonelli group heads. The one you have is for common home machines that use the E61 group heads.
Gasket. You are probably putting it in there with too much torque and cracked the gasket.
sounds like the ecm portafilter might not be seating properly in the group head. have you tried adjusting it or checking for any obstructions?
