Has this ever happened to anyone else? They are older than I thought, 2021. Seal seems great. I had used some previous from the same batch

This happens, especially if you don’t cut back the clear gel and if your jars get cold. It’s still perfectly safe and usable.

I canned apple pie filling in 2020. Pulled out a jar Wednesday to make a pie for Thanksgiving and it was just like this. Tasted delicious.
