My mother in law gave this squash to me nearly two years ago and it’s been sitting on my counter ever since. It was like a pale yellow orange at the beginning like a spaghetti squash. When I knock on it, it does sound hollow but still feels a bit fleshy. How long do I need to wait until it’s fully dried out? Is there anything I can do to help the process? I want to make it into a musical shaker. I know it’s not the typical squash used for that but if it can sit on my counter for two years and not rot, I feel like it could become a gourd shaker.
