Thank you so much!
I use the milk and white vinegar tip all the time for buttermilk. It's a handy tip to know! Thank you for sharing it always works with lemon juice 🎉💕
Thank you Jess. I made these today. They are amazing
I love baking Jess, but bisquits have always been that food that I couldn't get right. I just made these last night and I was sooo proud of how they looked and tasted. Thank you! I now have a go to recipe that works!
These biscuits were so easy to make in my food processor, and delicious!
These turned out absolutely stunning for my family ❤
Thanks for this gem of a recipe. 11pm and I'm making some for my in-laws for Turkey day, tomorrow. Nom nom 😋
Yeap we would call them griddle scones . But i like your verion. Im going to try doing the folding of them –
Love this Jess. Thank you. You cook like my mom except she had no gadgets in our turn of the century farmhouse kitchen. just a had mixer. She and my dad provided for 11 kids, living in the country, my dad would have so enjoyed these vids on homesteading. It was his heart. From scratch meals for every meal. Those were the days. For perspective, Our oldest brother is now 74 and I was a ‘53 baby, #3. Great job Jess. And we love biscuits in our empty nest.
Loved this tutorial and all the information about the “why”. That is so helpful. 🙏❤️ I do have two questions though: 1. Could you use lard instead of butter, and if so would the ratio be the same? And 2nd: not being in the US, how much does a stick of butter weigh? I can handle using Cups as a measurement, but find it difficult to use on solids like butter. I usually weigh on my kitchen scale whenever I try a new to me recipes to make sure I get the ratios right and get the best possible results.
I think my 11 year old will love these, and they are quick enough that I can make them for breakfast before school starts I think.
Jess I have never made any kind of dough in my life. I just made these and I feel so empowered now! Thank you!
Great video
Hi Jess, will you please show us how to make the gravy for biscuits and gravy also?
Being a household of 2..I don't often make biscuits but they look great
I just made them and they are soooo GOOD and EASY!!!THANK YOU!!❤❤
I freeze my extra buttermilk in mason jars for future recipes. Just need to take it out and place it in cool water to defrost!
Question: could the biscuit dough be frozen and baked later? I’m thinking it could but thought I’d throw it out there and ask!
This recipe came at just the right time! I have buttermilk left over from baking a red velvet cake. And I’m glad to know the buttermilk hack because whenever I buy buttermilk for a recipe, the rest of the container usually sits in the fridge until it spoils.
These are in the oven as I type. I can't wait to try them! 🙂
Does gluten free flour substitute well for regular flour?
You did it Jess. I am born and bred in GA., but have never been able to make biscuits. I watched your video and gave it a try once more. YES finally success. Thanks so much.
This is the perfect blend of the art and science of baking.
Perfect fluffyness! Just made a triple batch for my family but had to make some adaptions (margarine instead of butter because it is what I have). Excellent with traditional South African Apricot jam (jelly). Thank you, It's a quick, easy, reliable, and tasty recipe. We'll done! Keep 'em coming, we love these recipes!
I am an avid bread baker and love baking from scratch. I have ALWAYS struggled with biscuits- literally mine have turned out like a pie crust before…this recipe gave me the most beautiful buttermilk biscuits! I am so excited to add a recipe to my arsenal that I can quickly whip up for breakfast or to pair with dinner. Thank you, Jess!
I love this so much. I love cooking and baking, but just having kitchen time with you makes me so happy. And this community is something I love being a part of and have shared with so many people. <3
This is the cutest thing with all the little quotes I love them.
