Since 1962! I came for the vintage interior and stiff drinks, and stayed because the food is actually very good. I ordered the Sand Dabs, mostly because they are rarely seen on modern menus, and they were delicious. Lightly fried with a delicate flakey texture and lots of lemon and pepper flavors. Very buttery broccoli and mashed potatoes were served alongside. The Caesar Salad and Shrimp Cocktail were solid, and my husband liked his Ribeye. A great date night under $100 (with cocktails).

Looks like a really fun place. I assume it was opened in 1962 to take advantage of the movie *Mutiny on the Bounty* which opened the same year. Were there any tie-ins to the movie like movie posters or movie artifacts?

They have pretty good food there and nothing beats their beer and shot special ($6).

The drink looks good but not to be mean, the food doesn’t look that appetizing 👀

Honestly ive had some of the best quality meals in LA for the price point and a few times just ok. Depends on which chef is on duty I guess but ultimately that place rips and half the price of other old-school steakhouses. Love HMS.

I love HMS Bounty, I typically get the baseball streak. Go for the dinner, stay for the drinks.

Recently saw HMS on L.A.’s Landmark Restaurants book and already wanted to check them out. Thank you for the post! Cool interior, gives Madmen vibes

I can’t say why and I’ve never had the food, but there’s something unwholesome about eating at the Bounty. Kind of like eating at the strip club J

went there after hearing several recommendations, and left flabbergasted by how disgusting this place is. why do people like it here?

Interesting. Every time I’ve been there, it has looked much blurrier, sometimes even double
