Hello! I was testing this recipe that my aunt shared with me (she got it from the owner of Al Baba Sweets in Lebanon, although she told me they don’t add yeast) these meat pies turned out so great when I made them. I told myself I have to share them. Are they time consuming? Yes. But they are definitely worth it! I will be making them again.
Recipe:
500 g all purpose flour
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp yeast
1 1/4 whole milk, lukewarm
Oil for stretching: 1/4 cup olive oil 1/4 cup avocado oil or neutral based oil
Meat mixture recipe:
800g ground beef
2 tsp Lebanese 7 spices
1 tsp salt
1 large yellow onion, processed
1/4 cup pine nuts

Bake at 450 F for 8 minutes on the bottom rack and 5 minutes on the top rack or until it’s golden brown.
