Hey fellow coffee lovers! The Los Angeles area Intelligentsia Coffeebars voted to unionize in January of this year. Since then, Intelligentsia has been delaying our negotiations through their union-busting lawyer and we haven’t seen any progress on a contract. The company is hoping that we reach the year anniversary of our certification without a contract so that we’ll have to re-vote to certify our union or lose our union protection.
Other coffee shop staples in Los Angeles voted to unionize this year as well (such as La Colombe and Go Get Em Tiger), so this is a great opportunity to support the talented baristas who love coffee as much as you do.
